Summer STEM Camps 2026 at UNT

We’re hosting three exciting STEM camp sessions across three weeks this summer, all in-person on campus at the University of North Texas in Matthews Hall. Camps run 8:00 AM – 3:00 PM, with drop-off starting at 7:30 AM and pick-up required by 3:00 PM.

Camp Sessions

  • Week 1 (June 1–5): RoboCity Quest
    Robotics & coding with autonomous missions using rovers and drones in a simulated city called Math-hattan.
  • Week 2 (June 8–12): Mars Mission Camp
    Code rovers, explore Mars in VR, and visit UNT’s Sky Theater for Mars: The Ultimate Voyage.
  • Week 3 (June 15–19): Camp LIT
    Discover the science of electric light, build circuits, and design solutions for light pollution.

Each camp integrates STEM content to strengthen students’ knowledge in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics while making learning fun and hands-on.

  • 3rd–5th graders
  • 6th–8th graders

Registration

  • Opens March 2026
  • One-time registration fee: $50
  • Weekly Tuition: $300
  • Tuition includes: Program fee, lunch, T-shirt, supplies, lanyard, souvenirs, and more.
  • Refund policy: Refunds can only be requested up to four weeks before the start of camp. Requests after this period are not eligible.

Drop-Off & Parking

  • Drop-off: Roundabout in front of the UNT Student Union.
  • Parking:
    • You may park in the Highland Street Parking Garage.
    • UNT policy: Parking without a permit is allowed for 15 minutes only. For longer parking, obtain a permit at UNT Parking Permits.

Lunch Menu

  • Monday: Turkey & cheese, Ham & cheese, or vegetable sandwich on whole grain bread, baby carrots snack pack, apple slices cup, low-fat milk carton
  • Tuesday: Chick-fil-A grilled chicken wrap (whole grain tortilla), cherry tomatoes snack cup, orange wedges fruit cup (100% juice), low-fat milk carton
  • Wednesday: Domino’s cheese pizza (thin whole grain crust), pre-packaged side salad, fresh grapes snack bag, low-fat milk carton
  • Thursday: Wendy’s grilled chicken sandwich on whole grain bun, steamed corn cup (store-bought), mixed fruit cup (100% juice), low-fat milk carton 
  • Friday: Special Campus Dining Experience at Bruce’s Cafeteria (UNT)

Session 2

June 8 – June 12, 2026 | Mars Mission Camp

Students will embark on an exciting simulated mission to Mars! Campers will code robotic rovers to navigate Martian terrain and experience the Red Planet through immersive virtual reality technology. As part of this week’s adventure, we will visit UNT’s Sky Theater to watch Mars: The Ultimate Voyage, a captivating planetarium show that explores what it will take for astronauts to travel to Mars and beyond. This camp integrates STEM concepts in every activity, helping students deepen their understanding of space science, engineering, and technology while building critical thinking and collaboration skills.

Camp LIT

Session 3

June 15 – June 19, 2026 | Camp LIT (Light Innovation & Technology)

Students will explore the fascinating history and science behind electric light. They’ll learn how light was invented, create their own electric circuits, and investigate the impact of artificial light on humans, plants, and wildlife. Campers will also design innovative solutions to reduce light pollution and protect our environment—combining creativity with STEM skills to make a brighter future. As an education camp, Camp LIT integrates STEM content to strengthen students’ knowledge in physics, environmental science, and engineering, while encouraging innovation and problem-solving.

Session 1

June 1 – June 5, 2026 | RoboCity Quest Camp

Students will dive into the exciting world of robotics and coding with a focus on autonomous missions using rovers and drones. Campers will navigate a custom-built city called Math-hattan, applying 21st-century skills to solve real-world challenges. They’ll explore how robotic vehicles and drones are transforming industries like delivery services—experiencing a hands-on simulation that mirrors their reality. As an education camp, RoboCity Quest integrates STEM content throughout, ensuring students strengthen their coding, engineering, and problem-solving skills while improving their overall STEM knowledge.
